Mom stood in front of me and my brother with a cassette recorder that was roughly the size of an encyclopedia as she prompted us to sing.
In my five-year-old voice I belted out the best possible rendition of the preschool song about how the skybears made it snow last night.
That memory is now safely digitized and stored so we don't have to worry about the cassette continuing to deteriorate over time.
